This Thursday (Feb 23) in “Krusada,” Julius Babao will travel to the City of Pines to inspect the disputed tree-filled area and interview Mayor Mauricio Domogan and the leader of the anti-tree cutting movement to know their views on SM’s development project.
The country has already lost so much of its forest cover to give way to the construction of commercial establishments. Even Sierra Madre, the country’s largest mountain range that that comprises half of its total forest area, is threatened by rampant logging.
In his continuing crusade to save the environment, Julius will campaign for reforestation or planting of trees to restore critically damaged forests. Aside from that, he also wants to reinforce the protection of forests against illegal loggers and boost support for forest guards who at times sacrifice their own lives on duty.
Julius has been actively involved in movements that promote the quality of the environment. Last year in “Krusada,” he exposed the environmental hazards of plastic bags and encouraged viewers to reduce, prevent, or ban the use of plastic and non-biodegradable packaging materials. Julius also urged the public to use reusable containers like eco-bags.
Listen, take part and be one with Julius’ crusade because it takes more than words to make a stand. Watch “Krusada,” which is nominated in the Social Issues/Current Events category at the prestigious 2012 New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards, tomorrow (Feb 23) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN, or earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 PM.
